Do you have picky eaters in your home? I have 2 who eat only a few things and it irritates me to no end. I just read the cutest book about anteater 1 and he doesn't like ants so, he tries to convince anteater 2 to eat other foods. This precious book is titled, "I Don't Like To Eat Ants."
Anteater 2 says, "What's wrong with you? Eating ants are what we do". But, anteater 1 says they taste funny and they tickle his tongue. "I'd like some chocolate cake," says anteater 1 and all anteater 2 can do is rub his head and turn red.
The second anteater tells the first anteater that they don't have teeth and then asks, "so how can we eat cinnamon buns or grilled cheese sandwiches?" Anteater 1 says he just tears it apart. "Well, why are our noses so long if not to eat ants?" Anteater 1 replies that they are long so they can smell flowers and separate sweets from sours.
Eventually anteater 1 convinces anteater 2 to go to a restaurant with him. Anteater 2 orders a bowl of ants and he is told they don't sell ants there so, he settles on a PB& J sandwich. Anteater 1 asks his friend how does he like the sandwich and all anteater 2 can say is "Yum, Yum". He then asks anteater 1 why he never told him before how delicious the sandwich was, as he orders several more.
Anteater says he did mention it before but, he says he is just glad. "You never know what you'll like, 'till you give it a chance."
This book is really easy to get a child to see how the stubborn anteater wasn't about trying new foods but, once his friend got him to try other foods instead of just ants, he soon found out there were other good foods out there to eat too.
