Morphology Guessing Game Review

Morphology Guessing Game
Review

I was asked to review the new, and very fun, family game of Morphology.  This awesome game is a fun board game requiring players to dip into a goody bag full of string, wooden sticks, glass beads and colored cubes to create a designated object chosen from a deck of cards. Correctly guess the words your teammates build to be the first team to reach the Final Lily Pad.  For more of a challenge (and a possible Facebook photo op!), you may be asked to flex your creative muscles by closing your eyes, using your weaker hand, or only pick 5 objects to use while conjuring your given word.  Each game includes 480 cards, 50 pieces of material, a timer, a die and team pieces.
 How it all began:
The idea for Morphology first emerged during a snowstorm in Minneapolis, MN. Morphology inventor and recent Macalester College graduate Kate Ryan Reiling and two of her friends were stranded in their apartment and decided to play a board game.

They wanted to do something creative (and help their friend learn Spanish) so they opened a Spanish-English dictionary and built words using Jenga® blocks and Pente® pieces. Inspired by how much fun they had and how amazed she was at what they could build, Kate spent the next years prototyping what would soon become Morphology.
After graduating from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, Kate realized she had something special on her hands. “People kept asking to buy the game but I only had my prototypes which I had to beg to get back.”
When a Tuck professor wanted to purchase games to give out as gifts, Morphology Games was born. “I knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to follow that little voice in my head telling me that I had something special and it was worth chasing.
Morphology Games launched in late fall of 2009, quickly selling out its original units and in 2010, went to the New York Toy Fair where it received two “Top New Toys of 2010” nods. In the fall of 2010, Morphology was selected as TIME’s Top Ten Toys list as the Number 2 Toy of the Year.
This game can be bought at your local Barnes and Noble Book Store, Marbles The Brain Store and  http://www.morphologygames.com/ for $29.99  now on sale for $24.99

I played this game with my 3 grandsons and we had a blast.  You will be surprised how simple words, that you will be asked to have the other players guess, can be very tricky.  It looks easier than it really is, which is what makes it so fun.  You may be asked to describe the word "living room" by using 5 of the objects.  It can be really challenging!

We really love this game and I know your family will also!
So grab some popcorn, several friends or family, and begin playing the great game of Morphology.  What fun times you will have!

You can check out the latest updates from Morphology on their Facebook and Twitter.
