Laura's Story - "Open Hands" Gospel CD Review/Giveaway

Grammy Award winning Laura Story is a songwriter, speaker, author, artist, worship leader and mom.  Her solo artist music debuted in 2008 with , " Great God Who Saves.", led to 4 Dove Awards Nominations .  "Open Hands" is the follow-up to 2013's, accrediated aclaim, "God of Every Story."
Since then Laura has given birth to a set of twins, and she already had a little girl - making her a family of 5 now,
I love the story Laura tells about the meaning of the title, "Open Hands".  Lara explains how during worship we hold our hands open , not as clenched fists.  She states ,"with open hands we submit our pain , our sorrows , and we surrender our most broken things as an act of worship".  How amazing is that?

Laura has also written books, one is titled, "What If Your Blessings Came Through Raindrops," in 2012 and now her recent book, "When God Doesn't Fix It; Lessons You Never Wanted To Learn, Truth You Can't Live Without."
This album, "Open Hands", has  11 beautiful songs that reflect her life and all of us.  Listen below to "Open Hands," featuring Mac Powell:

Story admits motherhood has impacted her songwriting. Since having kids she wonders about the lives ahead of them.  After the news showing constant bad times and extreme injustice, even racial tensions, Laura wrote , "Grace Abounds", for her children so they will know through it all grace abounds. Laura wants her children to know that scripture says that when we don't know how we can  put one foot in front of the other, grace abounds.
I learned a lot from Laura's songs and messages.  One that made me really think is : "Worship in it's very core begins with surrender.  That's how we really show God he is worth it."
I know you will love these song's the words are touching and truthful.

  1. My favorite hymn is "The Old Rugged Cross" because it was a favorite of my Dad's and he is no longer with us.
