In the treehouse, Colton went over to the shelf, took down 11 boxes of cereal, and put them on the command chair. Then he went over and started the generator, turned on the television, and sat down in the chair. He took the dragon glasses out of his shirt pocket and put them on then opened up the handheld typewriter and typed in Dragon Land, and pushed enter. The wind started whipping around him like a tornado creating a terrible noise, so he covered his ears.
Before long, Colton was falling through the air. Then, slat, he landed on the purple ground with boxes of cereal crashing down on top of his head. He picked up the boxes and put them on the rock table, then he yelled at the top of his lungs, “I’m here!”
All the dragons came running out of their caves when they heard Colton’s voice.
“Where are we going?” Oreo asked.
“I’ve chosen three important places in our American history,” and excited Colton said taking off dragon glasses and putting them in his shirt pocket. “Now hurry up and form a circle around me and take hold of hands.”
Colton reads books on haunted houses and in this book he and his dragon go in search of a haunted house. Once inside, Colton discovers a real ghost that lives in the wall of this house. The ghost tells them to leave the house and as much as they want to, there are so many amazing things to see in this home. There is a library, vases full of fresh flowers and pictures of great beauty on the wall.
Colton's trip from the haunted house ends with colton telling about a special dragon taking him into Heaven to see his gramdpa. The trip sounded amazing.
This book 12 is another book in the series of teaching kids about American History. I love both of these books and the complete series is very fun to read and very educational for every child.
