Protecting Your Childs Health --- Book Review/Giveaway

Protecting Your Child’s Health: Expert Answers to Urgent Environmental Questions Paperback

Are you a parent that is concerned with what the environment is putting out into the air and land  around our children?  Like myself, you are probably worried about chemicals, vaccines, personal care products or even the lumber used to build your childs play ground structures.

This concern is very real and parents want answers.  This book titled, "Protecting Your Child's Health, Expert Answers to Urgent Enviromental Health", is written by Ruth A. Etzel, MD, PhD, FAAP, a pediatrician, an environmental epidemiologist, and a preventive medicine specialist who previously led the World Health Organization activities to protect children from environmental hazards. She is the editor of Pediatric Environmental Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics handbook for pediatricians. Sophie J. Balk, MD, FAAP, is a general pediatrician at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and a professor of pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. She is the associate editor of Pediatric Environmental Health.
As a parent, you know your most important job is protecting your child. But, you may not know as much about the numerous environmental hazards your child encounters every day. In a sea of “natural” products and questionable online experts, where can you find information you can trust? Protecting Your Child’s Health offers clear guidance on assessing and preventing the risks where your children live, learn, and play. Written by experts at the American Academy of Pediatrics, this practical Q&A guide offers evidence-based answers to questions about food and water safety, air pollution, radiation, pesticides, and more, helping you keep your children safe from the day-to-day environmental dangers in your home, school, and community.
I was really shocked at the information I got from this book.  Did you know there is still lead being used in the seams of some cans of food that are imported?  I didn't realize asbestos was used in hair dryers before the year 1980.  The US finally banned the use of asbestos in all electrical beauty appliances.
If you are concerned about the horrible things our children are around daily then you definitely need to buy this book.  The information is amazing and very eye opening.  You can purchase this book online from Amazon.
