"The Shunning" is a current movie that just came out on the Hallmark Channel. The Hallmark company sure knows how to tug at one’s heart strings. Watch Beverly Lewis’ The Shunning, this movie will really move you to tears.

Before she succumbs to cancer, the dying wish of Laura Mayfield-Bennett is to be reunited with the daughter she never knew. Unfortunately, that daughter, Katie Lapp, is a member of the Amish order. Katie is about to be married, but uneasy about the path ahead.

 Beautiful Katie Lapp has always felt something missing in her simple Amish existence. She is a very conservative girl. Her life is very simple and plain. Katie does however, love "English" music.  After she is caught playing her guitar, problems within herself seem to arise. Katie knows she is different. Then one day she stumbles upon a satin infant gown in the dusty leather trunk of her parents’ attic, she knows it holds a story she must discover. Why else would her Amish mother, a plain and simple woman who embraces the Old Order laws, hide the beautiful baby dress in the attic?

Questions arise and Katie discovers she is adopted.  She is soon reunited with her birth mom. Entering a world of modern technology and a totally different lifestyle , Katie sees life through different eyes.

You will love the beautiful scenery in this movie.  The countryside of Pennsylvania is glorious. '
In the quiet Amish community of Hickory Hollow, Pennsylvania, time has stood still while cherished traditions and heartfelt beliefs have flourished.  The lives of the Amish are so simple and earthy.

You will also feel the love from both parents and Katie, as they are caught up in this web of love and  changes.

I recommend you watching this movie. It is a great family movie that will definitely move you.
