Here in East Texas, mosquito's can get really bad in the hot, humid weather, so insect repellent is applied constantly. We can hardly set outside because of these awful pests. When ThermaCell agreed to let me try out one of their Patio Lanterns I was very excited.
The ThermaCell Patio Lantern is perfect for hanging on your patio or back porch, which is where I hung mine. No cords needed - just 4 AA batteries. The lantern works within a 15 x 15 ft. area. where it gives off an insect repellent that doesn't smell bad and doesn't get you oily. The lantern comes with a small mat, that you saturate with repellent and then slide into the top of the lantern. The heat from the lantern sends the repellent into the air which will fight off mosquito's and black flies. The repellent is natural allethrin and is found in chrysanthemum flowers and will not harm people or animals. The lantern can be turned on high or low and one mat works for 4 hours. The lantern comes with 3 extra mats and a small bottle of repellent.
Thermacell Patio Lantern will be used very much around this house in the evenings. We set out in a bottom room to shell peas and the mosquito's seem to get in through the screens. I just turn on the switch and the bugs stay away. It really runs those bugs off.
