"Wherever the River Runs" Book Review/Giveaway

"Wherever the River Runs," by Kelly Minter is a wonderful, touching book about the journey down the Amazon to spread the word of Jesus.  Kelly is invited by friends to visit the forgotten jungle people that live all along the river in Brazil, to reach them with the gospel.  When Kelly first arrives, with several family members and friends, she is completely taken back by the beauty of the piranha and shark infested waters.  Even more astonishing to her, is the people of the jungle.

In this book, Kelly tells of children guiding boats through the water without any adults, jungles full of monkeys and snakes, rain soaked lands and families without homes.  As Kelly rediscovers Jesus and what she needs in her own spiritual life, her heart fills up with love for these people that time forgot.
Kelly is lured to this gorgeous place many times to watch centers built, hold prayer meetings with Brazilian preachers and to see that the work of the Lord continues.

I loved this heartwarming book and the journey that Kelly Minter takes you on while you read it.  I cried and laughed all through each chapter as I was introduced to the children and adults of this beautiful country. The river definitely does continue to run and the people of the Amazon will live as they have for hundreds of years.  With the efforts of Kelly and the others who spread God's word, maybe the lives of these people will all be changed and saved through their glorious efforts.
