"Upside" is a delightful and inspirational movie about life as we all see it, sometimes.
Rodney and Provident Films asked me to review this awesome movie and I am so glad I did.
"Upside" is about a young talented athlete who has everything going for him. Solomon, or Soli, as his friends call him, is the star lacrosse player with a great chance to play for a leading college until one day he is injured while playing the game.
All things suddenly change when Soli realizes he can only see things upside down. Not knowing now what the future holds, Soli begins to question what really matters.
Along comes Wren, a blind girl, that can really see life as it should be seen, through God's ways. Wren introduces Soli to church and God. Soli soons begins to like Wren alot.
"Upside" really makes you think about what matters most in life.
When you're facing life's twists and turns, it's important to know what you believe. This fresh story of faith, romance, and coming of age is an inspiring reminder that when life gets you down, there's always an UPSIDE.
My favorite part of this movie is when Soli takes Wren to the aquarium to "see" the animals. Wren is amazed at how the sharks feel to her touch and how she isn't scared of them. Soli asks Wren if she ever regrets being blind and she says she doesn't because she can feel how things really are instead of how others see them.
"Upside" is an amazing movie that teaches the real value of our self worth.
I would recommend this movie to all families and youth groups to view.
It really leaves you feeling good inside!
