Baliboo Boxers Closed!
I have 8 grandchildren, 5 grandsons and 3 grandaughters, and they all wear, and LOVE boxers! Caroline was kind enough to allow me to host a review/giveaway that will let all my readers see what gorgeous work she does making these adorable boxers.
Pelangi in the Indonesian language means “Rainbow” and a rainbow of colors and prints is what Caroline's clothing is all about.
Bali Indonesia became a permanent home for her in 1986 when she married a man from Sumatra. After his death in 1997, she chose to stay in Bali so their two children could grow up knowing their father's heritage and culture. For the past 20 years she have been designing and sewing handmade batik children's clothing and patchwork home accessories together with a Balinese friend and now her daughter, who is in her last year of High School in the US.
Bali is such a creative and inspirational place for artists. Caroline fell in love with the textiles of Indonesia - particularly batik. After her first child was born in 1989 she began combining her Graphic Design skills from college, a basic knowledge of Amish patchwork techniques, and the beautiful array of local fabrics into pillowcases, bedspreads, wall hangings, quilts, and children’s clothing. During fabric buying trips she kept seeing that the amazingly colorful Bali batik fabrics stood out so much more when combined with other fabrics. This revelation developed into a style that is still her signature today. Caroline designs all her own fabrics and have them made by Javanese batik makers in Bali. Caroline feels it is a pleasure to now share her creations with you.
