" 23 Blast" is a wonderful, true story about typical teenager, Travis Freeman, who is the small town hero in 1997, in Kentucky, on the school's football team. Travis is suddenly stricken with irreversible, total blindness overnight and he must decide whether to live a safe, protected life or to summon the courage through playing football to step back into the world.
With the help of Travis' parents and that of a coach who risks everything, even his job, on Travis, Travis will play and lead his team to the state finals.
I loved this movie! It is the perfect family movie, although it is rated PG-13 (it does not contain strong language, sexual situations or violence), but there was considerable effort to edit the film, and even a formal appeal to the MPAA in order to garner a PG rating, however in telling the story of Jerry, it was imperative to show how his drinking impacted his friendship with Travis, his spot on the team, and ultimately his trajectory in life. It’s for the depiction of underage drinking in one particular scene that the movie is rated this way. But, I assure you it is a must see for teenagers and parents of teens. This movie shows what can happen to anyone on any given day. I love that it teaches courage and faith in oneself.

23 Blast shows that vision comes from within. Travis Freeman was an extraordinary teen who gave it all to his team and himself. I highly recommend everyone watching this movie, it is awesome!
