I recently read a remarkable book that was written by the author Michael Gabriele. This book is titled, "In The Flesh". It is written from the view of Jesus himself. The most remarkable story ever told is written as Jesus felt, loved and died. Walk with Jesus from 3 years before his death, to his death, then the resurrection.
I love the story of Jesus and his walk on Earth as a human through the picking of the apostles and on up until the crucifixion. Having read the Bible, watched movies and heard the story, I definitely know the ending, but never have I thought about how Jesus actually felt during those times. Michael Gabriele places you in the sandals of Jesus and you come about as close to the real thing as possible.
The story begins as Jesus leaves home to begin the end of his days. The apostles are all chosen one by one and you will learn about each of these men and why Jesus chose them. You will understand the mission these 12 men are on to spread the gospel and to tell others about God's love and excepting him as their savior. No longer will lambs and other animals need to be sacrificed to God because Jesus is the final sacrifice.
Jesus tells that he knows his place on Earth and how being the son of God that he was chosen before time to save mankind. He heals the blind and sick in front of people, raises Lazarus from the dead, he forgives the sins and gives the people hope of a new paradise someday. Finally, Jesus knows the time has come for him to become the sacrificial lamb of mankind. This story has you feeling the hurt as he is beat, flogged, spit on and ridiculed. Jesus continues on knowing this is his reason for being and he crys for forgiveness of those that are killing him. I could hardly read the torture that he received, but I did because all this was done to save myself and everyone else. After the death you will read how Jesus felt as he was once again alive and able to walk among men for several weeks before he ascended the last time into Heaven where he waits until the final day of judgment and he will then come once again to receive his people.
If you want to read the story of Jesus and his life and death, I suggest you read "In The Flesh." Never have I read such a book with the emotion that Mr. Gabriele uses. It will have you laughing, crying and praising God for his son.
