"The Utter Relief of Holiness" Book review/giveaway

Book
review/giveaway

"The Utter Relief of Holiness" by John Eldredge tells us how God's goodness frees us from everything that plagues us.  John Eldredge is the president of Ransomed Heart, a ministry devoted to helping people find the heart of God.

I received this book as a reviewer for Fly By Promotions.
I love how John uses humor and wit to help us all understand more about God and his reason behind the love he has for us.
In this book John explains how we can be set free from all that plagues us such as anger, content and habitual sins.  He also takes stories from God's Holy Word, the Bible, and breaks down the story as they took place and tells us what each one means as Jesus was experiencing it.  Some are: healing on the Sabbath, how we are all forgiven, even the harlot woman, and how Jesus appeared on the shoreline after his death and spoke to the fishermen.  All the incidents are known to most Christians but John breaks it down as he explains what Jesus felt and meant in each episode.

John uses humor to uncover the truth about who Jesus really is.  In some incidents he portrays a comical spirit in Jesus when dealing with certain doubters.  This is one of the best parts in the book to me because it makes me feel that Jesus was, even though Godly, he was a man who knew how humans thought and felt.

I believe everyone would enjoy reading this book.  If you are looking to find out more of God's  words then please enter to win this book.  It is a great teaching book that will bring you closer to God.  John is a wonderful author with a deep insight by warning about the "poison of religion," he urges readers to turn from religious power displays and legalism and instead spend time falling in love with the man, Jesus.
