Seventh Generation is a company that derives its name from the Great Law of the Iroquois that states, "In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations." Every time you use a Seventh Generation product you are making a difference by saving natural resources, reducing pollution, keeping toxic chemicals out of the environment and making the world a safer place for this and the next seven generations.
Seventh Generation carries a complete line of non- toxic products. Some of these brand-name products include: non-chlorine bleached, 100% recycled paper towels, bathroom and facial tissues, and napkins; non-toxic, phosphate-free cleaning, dish and laundry products; plastic trash bags made from recycled plastic; chlorine-free baby diapers, training pants, and baby wipes; and chlorine-free feminine care products, including organic cotton tampons.
This company is committed to becoming the world's most trusted brand of authentic, safe, and environmentally-responsible products for a healthy home. For 20 years, the closely held Burlington, Vermont-based company has been at the forefront of a cultural change in consumer behavior and business ethics.
I would like to thank Meghan @ Seventh Generation for allowing me to do this review/giveaway upon my own request. Meghan and Seventh Generation provided me with the Natural Baby Starter Kit for review. This kit included diapers size 4, Disinfecting Multi-Surface, Disinfecting Bathroom, Disinfecting Wipes - 35 ct., Baby Wipes Tub, Baby Wipes Refill, Baby Laundry Detergent, All Purpose Natural Paper Towels, and a Seventh Generation Recycled Bag.
The Seventh Generation Natural Baby Starter kit is a great kit! It includes everything you will need to get you started with disinfecting and cleaning along with the necessary baby needs.
The first item I reviewed is the Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Baby Diapers size 4. I waited to write this review until after my grandson, age 21 months., had worn these diapers for a week. Usually after one wetting Brinner's diapers start to sag and leak. Brinner is a super-soaker so these diapers were put to a real test. I will have to say these diapers are the BEST he has ever worn. They really absorb great. I also like the fact that the stretchy leg parts do not cut into his skin. Brinner also has sensitive skin and the fact that Seventh Generation diapers are chlorine free added up to even more pluses in their favor. If it is cute cartoon characters you want on your child's diaper and less dryness, then these diapers aren't for you. You get what you need with these Seventh Generation Diapers, no frills, just great diapers that will really keep your child dry. These diapers contain only: Chlorine free wood pulp fluff, Sodium Polyacrylate (SAP), Polyolefin nonwoven fabric, Adhesives, Polyolefin film, and Synthetic rubber elastic strands.
Seventh Generation sent me Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner. This cleaner is formulated to be safe for your family and the environment, this product does not create harsh fumes or contain dyes or synthetic fragrances. This cleaner is an alternative to conventional petroleum-based cleaners. The Seventh Generation Multi-Surface cleaner is non-toxic and biodegradable, hypoallergenic, and kosher-certified. I love the fact that this cleaner and all Seventh Generation cleaners are never tested on animals.
I used Seventh Generation's Multi-Surface Cleaner on my stove, refrigerator, counter tops and the most needed place, my back door. I live in a double wide and my door is made from a metal material. This multi-surface cleaner cleaned my door sparkling clean. The door had hand prints, dirty scuff marks and dirt embedded into the small grooves. Seventh Generation Multi- Surface Cleaner really cuts dirt and grime. I love the fact that this cleaner kills over 99.99% of household germs naturally. Some of these germs being the Influenza A, H1N1, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli on hard, nonporous surfaces.
Seventh Generation Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner is one of the cleaners that I like the best. I love the smell! This cleaner also kills over 99.99% of household germs naturally. The scent reminds me of a very clean and germ free room. I used this is my big walk-in shower. I like the fact that when you spray this cleaner it sprays a straight stream. Whenever I aimed it at the dirty spots and soap scum, it went straight to the area, hitting it right on the exact spot. This is something I have never been able to find in another cleaner. Seventh Generation also disinfects while you clean, effectively controls odors, and will not harm hard, nonporous surfaces. This disinfecting bathroom cleaner can also be purchased in Lemongrass & Thyme scent.
Also included in the kit is the Seventh Generation Disinfecting Wipes - 35 ct. I use these on Brinner's highchair and on the table top. I feel really safe having Brinner eat from his chair after cleaning with these because they kill over 99.99% of household germs, specifically: Influenza A, Salmonella enterica and Pseudomonas aeruginosa . These wipes are thick enough to do the job great!
Seventh Generation offers several products for baby needs. The chlorine free baby wipes also came with a refill pack and the tub to place the wipes in. Not only are these wipes chlorine free but they also soft and gentle for baby's delicate skin. These wipes are free of dyes and fragrances and are made with soft cloth that has not been processed with chemicals containing chlorine. These Seventh Generation Baby Wipes are really strong enough made to get the job done but yet gentle. I really like these wipes because they are hypoallergenic, unscented and alcohol free.
Seventh Generation also makes 2X Concentrated Baby Laundry Liquid. This laundry detergent is also non-toxic & biodegradable, unscented, and alcohol free. I have to say this baby detergent worked well but I would rather have my grandson's laundry smell more like a baby or with some type of baby scent. If you want an unscented baby detergent that cleans well, but is scent free, then this detergent is for you. This detergent is not tested on animals and it also removes water hardness to improve cleaning power. Seventh Generation 2x Concentrated Baby Laundry Liquid is also safe for septic systems.
Seventh Generation All Purpose Paper Towels are another one of my favorites. These paper towels are very durable and really absorb well. I not only used the paper towels for everyday wipes and spills but also for absorbing the grease from fried foods. I only use paper towels that will absorb grease well. I cannot stand to eat soggy, greasy foods. This is why I really recommend these paper towels. These are made from 100% recycled paper (minimum 80% post-consumer). Buying products made from recycled paper helps reduce the need for virgin wood pulp, which means more trees are left standing. These hard-working paper towels absorb spills quickly, even when wet. The white paper towels are now available in right-size half-sheets, so you can match the towel with the job. I received the brown paper towels that are completely nature and unbleached.
Seventh Generation included one of their recycled bags in with the starter kit. This recycled bag can be used to carry and store all the cleaning products in. Even if you decide not to use this bag for storing the products, it can also be used for carrying anything you would like. This bag is also made from recycled materials.
Seventh Generation is so determined to help our environment that they even dedicate 10% of their profits to non-profit community, environmental, health, and responsible business organizations working for positive change.
Seventh Generation is a company with that carries many products and they have a huge goal in mind while doing so. The goal of this awesome company is to restore the environment, inspire conscious consumption, and to create a just and equitable world.
