Do you remember September 1, 2011? I know I definitely do! I was taking a load of laundry to my laundry room, as I passed the T.V. in the living room, I saw an interruption on my local news showing an airplane hitting the World's Trade Center in New York City. I stopped and froze. No one was really aware of exactly what terrorists would do until this. I had children at school and a husband at work and as I watched another plane hit, I knew our country was in trouble. I called my husband and the school to see if I needed to come get my kids. The kids in school were actually watching a re-play of what had just taken place. It wasn't long before the Pentagon was hit. I remember praying to God that this horrible tragedy stop. There were people caught in the buildings, jumping from windows of buildings, people on the streets of New York running and they were covered in soot and concrete matter.
This day was the beginning of our war on Terrorism and definitely one I will never forget. For days after this horrible tragedy our world actually came together. Everyone stopped robbing and committing crimes and we all mourned the hundreds who died because of the action of radical Islamic madmen against our wonderful U.S.A
There is a movie due out on September 8 titled, "9/11" and it is about 5 real life people who were caught in an elevator at the World Trade Center building and they did not know what was going on outside. The elevator hangs on the 34th floor and when it does these 5 people band together to make it out alive. This movie stars Charlie Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg and a cast of other great actors.
