"The Treasure Tree" Book Review/Giveaway

"The Treasure Tree" is a book written by a father and daughter, Bruce and Vernae Ewing.   This fictional book is full of mysteries, faith, imagination and life lessons.  The story begins  when two young men travel a long way in search of wisdom to help their families who are suffering from no food and droughts.  Each boy needs to bring back help for the lands of their families or they may all die.
The boys wander up to a tree where an old man is sitting beneath it.  The old man is named Jedidiah and he is a very old and wise man.  Many people have came in search of the old man's wisdom. Never have the boys seen a tree such as this tree.  The limbs stretch out and motion for the men to come over. Jedidiah asks the boys their names which are  Matt and Jackson and he welcomes them to stay the night.  Suddenly the tree opens a door for them to enter and Matt and Jackson can not believe the size of the house.  The rooms are large and the halls are long and full of beautiful decorations.  The old man tells the young men they can pick any room to stay in and they can take one treasure with them when they leave, but only one and it cannot be the Sun Stone.  Jedidiah also tells the boys they have to complete a task the next day to prove their truth.

That night Matt decides he is very tired and he needs his sleep for the work the next day.  Jackson decides to inspect all of the rooms and he finds a treasure box and the Sun Stone.  Even though Jackson knows he should be resting, he decides to hide several of the treasures so he can steal away with them the next day even though it is wrong.  Jackson stays up all night and is very tired the next morning, Matt on the other hand is well rested and ready to work.
Jedidiah gives the boys 100 packs of seeds and tells them not to mix the seeds when they plant them.  Matt gets his job done and plants the seeds right, but Jackson is to tired and he scatters the seeds all together over the grounds.  When Jedidiah sees they are through, he asks if both boys did the job correctley and Jackson says Matt didnt do his right. He blames all his mistakes on Matt.  Jedidiah has both boys go with him and they redo the gardens.  Matt confesses to Jedidiah that it was really Jackson who did it wrong and lied.  When they look to find Jackson he has gone to steal the treasures and is ready to leave but when he enters the Sun Stone room he hears growling noises and a huge beasts grabs him up and they turn into a rug on the floor.  Matt sees this ands pleads with Jedidiah to bring Jackson back and he will take his place because Jacksons mom needs him home because his dad is dead.  Jedidiah agrees to this if Matt will stay on as his servant for 6 months.  Matt agrees and Jackson comes out of the rug and is sent back home where he takes care of both boys families.
One day Jedidiah 's grandaughter arrives at the tree house.  Patience is the most beautiful girl Matt has ever seen.  Jedidiah is a wise and God fearing man and he knows Matt is a true and honest man that will make his grandaughter, Patience, a wonderful husband.  Soon Matt and Patience marry and Matt is allowed to go back home to see his parents after such a long time and they meet his new wife.
This story teaches that truthfullness will get you more than lieing will, stealing is wrong and the actions can be devastating and honesty is always best.  I love this book and I know anyone reading it will feel uplifted and better for reading it.
