"The Treasure Tree" Book Review/Giveaway

           

 "The Treasure Tree" is a book written by a father and daughter, Bruce and Vernae Ewing.   This fictional book is full of mysteries, faith, imagination and life lessons.  The story begins  when two young men travel a long way in search of wisdom to help their families who are suffering from no food and droughts.  Each boy needs to bring back help for the lands of their families or they may all die.

  The boys wander up to a tree where an old man is sitting beneath it.  The old man is named Jedidiah and he is a very old and wise man.  Many people have came in search of the old man's wisdom. Never have the boys seen a tree such as this tree.  The limbs stretch out and motion for the men to come over. Jedidiah asks the boys their names which are  Matt and Jackson and he welcomes them to stay the night.  Suddenly the tree opens a door for them to enter and Matt and Jackson can not believe the size of the house.  The rooms are large and the halls are long and full of beautiful decorations.  The old man tells the young men they can pick any room to stay in and they can take one treasure with them when they leave, but only one and it cannot be the Sun Stone.  Jedidiah also tells the boys they have to complete a task the next day to prove their truth.

   Gramma Mouse is gathered with all her little grandchildren around her and they begin begging for her to tell them a story.  This is the beginning of the book titled, "Gramma Mouse Tells a Story," by M.E. Hembroff.  I was so excited to review this book and tell my readers about it.
   This book is for younger children.  It is written with simple words and easy to understand comments.  This book is written as the main character, Gramma Mouse, tells a story of herself as a tiny mouse going on a trip to visit her cousin mouse across the garden.
   Gramma's Ma and Pa tell her to be very careful because there are scary, dangerous things in the garden.  Gramma is called, Tiny. because she is so small.  Tiny assures her parents she will be very careful.  But, as Tiny adventures off into the garden, she sees a lot of bright and exciting things.

Bash and the Pirate Pig is a fun book written by the author Burton Cole.  I was asked to review this great book and considering it is written especially for boys 8-14, I asked my 9 year old grandson to read it along with me.  He was very excited and loves this book.

The story begins as Raymond "Beamer" Boxby finds out he must spend the summer in the country with his cousin Bash.  Beamer is a city boy who much rather be playing his video games than chasing a pig in the country.
