Everyone loves the story of the first Christmas but, there is a new book out from Ideas Books that tells the exact same story with the words in a lyrical form. "The First Christmas Night" , is a beautiful, hardback book by the author: Kieth Christopher. The story of baby Jesus being born of Mary, in a stable full of gorgeous animals, and the angels of heaven rejoicing in his birth is absolutely wonderful. I read this book to my grandsons this morning and they never moved as I read each page. They loved the animals and baby Jesus' pictures. One of my grandson's who is 5, especially loved the "kings" - actually the 3 Wise Men who brought gifts to the newborn king.
Above you see Brinner amazed at the beautifully drawn picture of baby Jesus. This books is full of lovely rhyming words that tell the story is a special sounding way. The pages are not too long so it holds the child's attention just perfectly.
I plan on having this wonderful book a yearly part of my Christmas tradition from now on. I have 11 grandchildren and I would love to read it to all of them. I also plan on sending it to school with my oldest grandson so his teacher can read it to his class. Maybe this book can tell a child that, doesn't know the story of the first Christmas, something fantastic that they can cherish forever.
